teachers at peace
Chris Russell is a Yoga Alliance certified instructor who received these ancient learnings from the Himalayan Yoga Association in Rishikesh, India. He wanted to go straight to the source. Raised in Denver, he cut his teeth in Brooklyn, and now calls Los Angeles his home. He could think of no better place than surrounded by nature, where mountains meet the ocean, to deepen his practice and hold his next chapter. He was first introduced to the principles of yoga in his college theater program, where elements of breath work matched with stretching and body movement were used to prepare the body and mind. Trained in Vinyasa flow and Ashtanga, Chris aims to bring you a practice that is challenging, playful, exciting and inviting, healing and restorative; that good good for the mind + body + higher soul. He hopes to share this practice with yogis of all levels, and those who are battling mental illness, such as depression and anxiety; as he’s found this to be a useful tool in his own battle. Yoga equips your mind with the tools to de-stress, and de-clutter your thoughts and disrupt your patterns. Yoga is not just a solid work out, but an even greater chance to work IN. See you on the mat, Om-ies. Namaste.
